Supporting Our Armed Forces Community – October 2025 Update
Welcome to this month’s newsletter. This month, we’re pleased to share a special request from the Royal British Legion. They are inviting local crafters to help create a stunning cascade of poppies that will form a moving display behind the iconic Concrete Cows at Milton Keynes Museum.
Help Create a Stunning Poppy Cascade for Milton Keynes Museum
We’re delighted to share an inspiring project from the Royal British Legion.
They are calling on local crafters to help create a spectacular cascade of poppies that will form a striking display behind the original Concrete Cows at Milton Keynes Museum. This tribute will be unveiled on 15 October 2025
To bring this vision to life, they need between 4,500 and 6,000 handmade poppies – and that’s where you come in!
Whether you knit, sew, crochet, or work with felt, your skills can help make this tribute special. Every poppy will contribute to the cascade, creating a powerful symbol of remembrance and community spirit.
Patterns are available to help you get started, and for those working with felt, the poppies can be easily assembled by sewing or using a glue gun.
The Royal British Legion will begin collecting poppies the week before the display opens. If you would like to take part, you can drop off your poppies at the Parish Office.
