On Saturday 9th April, over 30 volunteers met outside Great Linford Parish Council Office to take part in a Community Litter Pick. Volunteers split into five teams to cover the Great Linford estate and managed to collect a whopping 150Kg of litter.
A huge thank you to The Community Hub who rewarded volunteers with a delicious lunch at the Pavilion after the litter pick.
Feedback from the volunteers was positive and many felt that in addition to picking up litter the event had also allowed them to connect with others and get some exercise.
Following the success of this event, we are planning regular community litter picks throughout the year. Stay tuned for more details!
The event was part of the Great British Spring Clean which ran from 25th March to 10th April and was organized by Tommy Hayes, Community Liaison Officer for the Parish Council
