Community Litter Pick in Neath Hill

This month's litter pick on August 3rd in Neath Hill was a resounding success, with over 30 dedicated individuals coming together to make a difference. After the unfortunate cancellation of July's event due to unsafe weather conditions, it was wonderful to see the community spirit reignited. We were thrilled to welcome back our regular participants and meet some lovely new faces who joined us for the first time. 

Our collective efforts yielded impressive results. Together, we collected a whopping 42 bags of rubbish, weighing in at 220 kg! This significant achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. 

Jane, the Community Safety Officer from MK City Council, was in attendance, focusing on identifying alcohol debris. This effort is part of an initiative to include our parish in the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). Unfortunately, a substantial amount of alcohol-related litter was found, highlighting the ongoing need for community vigilance and action.

A big thank you goes to MacIntyre for hosting this litter pick. Their support made the event possible, and their hospitality ensured our volunteers were well rewarded with delicious refreshments afterwards. This provided a perfect opportunity for everyone to relax and chat with neighbours. 

 

We are excited to announce that our next litter pick will take place in Conniburrow on September 7th. We will be meeting at the Conniburrow Community Centre at 10 am. Everyone is welcome, and all necessary litter-picking equipment will be supplied.
