Great Linford Parish Council is excited to partner with Community Action: MK to offer volunteers a free, one-day First Aid at Work training course! This is a fantastic opportunity for community organisations to enhance their skills and make a greater impact in the community.

Why Attend? 
This comprehensive training programme will cover essential first-aid skills, equipping participants with the knowledge and confidence to handle medical emergencies. Upon completion, attendees will receive a three-year certification, providing valuable qualifications for volunteers and community groups. 
 
What You’ll Learn 
Participants will gain hands-on experience in: 
✔️ Basic Life Support (BLS) – Performing CPR on adults, including chest compressions and rescue breaths 
✔️ Choking Management – Recognising and responding to choking incidents 
✔️ Bleeding Control – How to stop bleeding effectively 
✔️ Shock Management – Identifying and responding to symptoms of shock 
✔️ Unconscious Casualty Care – How to assess and assist an unresponsive person 
✔️ Burns & Scalds – First aid responses for different burn severity levels 
✔️ Seizures – Managing a person experiencing a seizure 
✔️ Head Injuries – Recognising and responding to head injuries 
✔️ Defibrillator Usage (Theory-Based) – Understanding how to operate an AED 
✔️ Role of a First Aider – Responsibilities and limitations of a trained first aider 
✔️ Incident Reporting – How to record and report first aid incidents correctly
