Since the Strategy for 2050 was drafted and published for engagement earlier this year, the world has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and the way we all live our lives has changed dramatically. We believe the ambitions of the Strategy for 2050 still hold true, of ensuring everyone has access to a decent home at a price they can afford, that we should have mobility for all, and of encouraging economic growth and improving skills for our residents. However, we want to give you the opportunity to share your thoughts on the potential long-term impacts of Covid-19 and how it might change the way the city grows and changes over the coming decades.
We have therefore prepared a short note and some questions (click here) to help frame any thoughts you might like to share with us. Please do share this note with your networks and neighbours.
Thank you to those who took the time to respond earlier this year on the draft Strategy for 2050; you do not need to repeat those comments but instead focus on the impacts of Covid-19 for Milton Keynes. Over the coming months we will be reviewing all of the feedback received to date, as well as your feedback on these Covid-19 issues, to help us improve and refine the Strategy for 2050. We intend then to publish a revised Strategy for 2050 in Autumn 2020 as an opportunity for you to provide some feedback on the changes we have made, before we take the final Strategy through our Cabinet and Council processes for adoption early in 2021.
Comments should be received by Friday 17th July 2020 by email to or by post to MK Futures Team, Milton Keynes Council, Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ.
