GLPC manages several community facilities and looks after open public spaces. We are looking for two practical, flexible, can-do people to join our Environment and Facilities team.
The Maintenance Technician / Caretaker role is a full time – 35 hours a week position delivering a safe secure and practical community facilities for a variety of activities.
Facility management is the main focus ; you will need to show a variety of skills and knowledge areas required to efficiently operate and maintain buildings and infrastructure, including maintenance, safety and security
You will need
Communication.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding the mechanics behind electrical systems, HVAC systems, generators, plumbing, carpentry and general building trades is essential
General Maintenance: Skills in performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, knowledge and use of associated machinery used to carry out repairs on various building systems
Task scheduling and personal time management.
Health and Safety Management: Identifying hazards, ensuring safety protocols are in place and understood, understanding HSE requirements
Managing current operational budgets
Sound IT skills to enable you to use smartlog facility management software, MS 365 teams planner
Facilities /Grounds Technician role is a part time role - 21 hours a week a flexible team member with landscape and facility maintenance practical skills
Purpose of the Job:

Join our dynamic team at Great Linford Parish Council working and supporting the other members of the team who provide safe facilities and beautiful open spaces! In this role, you'll leverage your practical problem-solving skills to manage and maintain our beautiful landscapes and facilities. You'll be a key player in ensuring our assets are well-maintained and our community spaces are safe, tidy, and enjoyable for everyone.
You will need
To be flexible
Happy to work as an individual or as part of a team
Practically minded and happy to use landscape equipment and turn your hand to facility maintenance with an eye for detail
Essential requirements for these team members are:
Flexibility
Ability to plan
Practical hands on
Evidence of experience in maintenance or landscape
Clean driving license , access to a vehicle
