Neath Hill Brought to Life with Vibrant Murals
Posted on 6th July 2022 at 13:14
The redevelopment of this neglected area in Neath Hill had been planned for some time, the Memorial Gardens in Neath Hill had certainly seen better days. Students from MK College were invited to submit mural designs to transform the area.
Eight designs were chosen, and the winning students, Olivia Harrison, Alyssa Garner, Jennifer Anton Vimalathas, Julia Klimaszweska, Prudy Essel, Ryan Chow and Syd Macguinness had all recently completed their courses in Art and Design (levels 1-3) and Graphic Design (level 3) at MK College.
The walls were first painted white to create a blank canvas, and then the designs were sketched out. Work started at the end of June and it took several days to complete.
The students worked tirelessly to bring their designs to life. The finished murals look amazing, this tired and neglected space has been transformed.
Thank you to all the students for their incredible efforts and thank you to MK College for supporting this project. Work on improving the seating and planting in this area is continuing and is planned to be completed by Autumn 2022.
