At the end of 2024, we shared news about exciting plans for a new Padel Tennis Club at Marsh Drive Sports Ground (read the original post here). The proposal aimed to bring a new leisure opportunity to the area.
The planning application for the proposed Padel Club at Marsh Drive Sports Ground was refused by Milton Keynes City Council in January 2025.
MK Padel, the group behind the project, shared the following comment:
“We have been very grateful for the support from so many members of the community and Great Linford Parish Council for the padel project on Marsh Drive Sports Ground. So we were very disappointed when MK Council refused planning permission in January 2025. We have been asked to provide assurance on a number of areas to ensure that planning requirements are fully met, such as relating to the local ecology, traffic etc. This means that we will have to pay for a large number of reports from various professionals, none of which we had budgeted for. We hope to know by late spring/early summer what will be our next steps and hope that we can deliver the padel club we had envisioned for the local community and broader player base in Milton Keynes.”
We will continue to support the group where possible and will share any updates as they become available.
