Great Linford Parish and Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs)
Great Linford Parish is now protected by a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). The PSPO aims to deter anti-social behaviour, particularly focusing on alcohol misuse in public spaces.
Key Points of the Alcohol-Related PSPO
Under Section 63 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014:
Alcohol Consumption: It’s an offence to consume alcohol in designated areas if a police officer or authorised officer instructs otherwise.
Alcohol Surrender: It’s also an offence to refuse to surrender alcohol or alcohol containers when ordered by an officer or authorised officer.
Enforcement and Penalties
Offenders may be issued with a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice or prosecution resulting in a maximum fine of £500 for either of these breaches of the PSPO.
Why PSPOs Are Important
PSPOs serve as a crucial tool to promote safe, welcoming public spaces by reducing anti-social behaviour. This order reinforces our commitment to community well-being in Great Linford Parish.
