Celebrating Community Spirit: Cllr Tara Jefferies at Spring Networking Event
On Tuesday 29th April, Cllr Tara Jefferies had the honour of speaking at Community Action: MK’s Spring Volunteering Networking Event, held at New Bradwell Community Centre. The event brought together nearly 50 dedicated individuals from charities and voluntary organisations across Milton Keynes for a morning of connection, collaboration, and inspiration.

Cllr Jefferies shared her personal journey into volunteering — a path that led her to become a Parish Councillor and build a small team of passionate volunteers who support her community work. Her story was a testament to how grassroots involvement can grow into impactful leadership and long-term community service.
Reflecting on the event, Cllr Jefferies said, "It was great to attend today’s event and connect with so many passionate charities and volunteers from across Milton Keynes. I was pleased to share a bit about my own journey into volunteering and how it led me to become a Parish Councillor. Networking with others who share the same drive to make a difference was truly inspiring."
Community Action: MK’s networking events continue to play a vital role in uniting those working for social good, offering a space to exchange ideas, celebrate success, and build new partnerships that benefit the people of Milton Keynes.
