webinar success for glpc
On Wednesday, 29th January, Tommy Hayes, Community Liaison Officer at Great Linford Parish Council, delivered a webinar for councils across Buckinghamshire on behalf of BMKALC (Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Association of Local Councils).

The session focused on Strategic Planning for Your Community. It highlighted the importance of developing a five-year strategic plan and guided councils on creating one effectively. Strategic planning helps councils set clear priorities, align resources, and ensure long-term success in serving their communities.

This marks the second webinar Tommy has been invited to present for BMKALC, following his speaking engagement at their 2023 annual conference. His insights continue to support parish councils in making informed, resident-focused decisions.

Reflecting on the webinar, Tommy said:
"It was a privilege to share Great Linford Parish Council’s approach with other councils across Buckinghamshire. At the heart of our work is ensuring that we truly listen to our residents, understanding their needs and priorities is key to delivering meaningful change."

Joanna Murray, Parish Clerk and RFO for Hazelmere Parish Council attended the session. She commented, “I’ve just returned to parish clerking, and his training session was inspirational and something I hope to be able to implement in the future.”

BMKALC’s training sessions provide valuable learning opportunities for local councils, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices across the region.
