Weekly Update 22nd August

Hello, good morning, and welcome to a new week. Let's start off this week's update with some news.
Firstly, thank you to all the volunteers involved in Saturday's litter pick on Pennyland, it was a great turnout. All the volunteers enjoyed lunch, supplied by Great Linford Community Hub, it was delicious. The details of the next one will be up on our website soon.
Nominations are open for our resident recognition awards. On the 15th of October, we'll be holding our annual recognition events and we want to hear from you who are the superstars in our community that just show up and do a great job.
You can pop into the office and pick up a nomination form or if you head over to our website, there is an online form. All we need to know is the name and the contact details of the person you’ve nominated. And why they should be recognized. Nominations open until the 30th of September.
Also, in our area, The Parks Trust has a poetry trial throughout Great Linford Park, this is a temporary trial running until the 4th September.
Breakfast and Banter runs until 11am this morning There will be no Breakfast and Banter next Monday because it's a Bank Holiday.
Great Linford Community Fridge is open from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm
Great Linford Community Hub is open from 1pm to 4pm
Also today, MK Dons football session on Marsh Drive today from 230 to 430.
The Holiday Activity and Food Program runs from 9.30am till 2pm. You need to book directly with MK Melting Pot for that one.
Great Linford Community Hub is open from 12 pm to 4 pm
The Community Larder at Downs Barn is open from 11 am – 1 pm
Our regular Citizens Advice drop-in session runs from the Great Linford Parish Council offices from 10 till 1, no need to make an appointment just drop.
The Conniburrow Youth Club runs from 6-8 pm
5-7pm Ages 8-12
7-9pm Ages 12-16
Also on Tuesday, there's the Holiday Activity and Food Program running from 9.30am till 2pm.
On Wednesday, there's Conniburrow Community Fridge, and boxing sessions for kids, ages 8 till 12, between 6 pm and 7 pm, and ages 12 to 16, 7 to 8 pm. That's run by Keeping Kids Off the Streets.
Conniburrow Community Fridge is open from 5 till 7pm
Great Linford Community Hub is open from 10 am to 4 pm
Yoga Wellbeing Class for seniors running from 9:30 am in the Parish Council Meeting Room, there's a cost of five pounds for that.
Also on Thursday, FREE Summer Basketball session running from 2 to 5 pm at the Conniburrow Muga.
At Conniburrow Community Centre there is a FREE play session that runs from 9:30am till 12pm.
Date for your Diary
Saturday 10th of September Community Fun Day.
There'll be free bouncy castles, live music and entertainment. Get that one in your diary.
