It's the start of the Summer Holidays and there is lots going on in the Parish. This is an overview of what is going on in and around the area this week.  
UPDATE - The Wellbeing Cafe on Wednesday's is going to be closed until further notice.

Hello and welcome to a new week. 
It's the first week of the summer holidays for many and there's lots going on. So, let's jump straight in there and let you know what is going on in the parish this week. 
Well today, Monday, Breakfast and Banter is currently going on as we speak from 9.30am to 12pm in the Great Linford Parish Meeting Room, this is a breakfast buffet for a one-pound donation. Come along, chat with others, and start the week right. 
Also, today the community fridge is on from 11.30 till 12.30pm. And the community hub is open from 1 till 4pm. 
Running alongside breakfast and banter this morning is our housing adviser. 
You don't need to go to Breakfast and Banter to be able to gain some housing advice. Simply drop into Great Linford Parish Office 9.30 to 12.30 and you can speak to someone so any concerns that you have about housing. 
Also today, The Parks Trust is running a Summer Stories in the Park session, this is bookable and it's £2 per person 
 
On Tuesday, we've got our regular Citizens Advice drop-in session back to the normal time this 10am to 1pm and problems with housing debt, consumer law, family law or benefits. No need to make an appointment just drop in and get a resolution to that thing that's been on your mind. 
 
Also on Tuesday is the Community Hub at Great Linford open from 12 to 4pm and the Community Larder Down at the Cross and Stable 11am to 1pm. Also running alongside the Community Larder is Age UK advice. There will be advisors for Age UK offering free and confidential and independent information and advice to anybody over the age of 55. They can offer benefit checks, and they can support you in making a claim if you need some support there. You don't need to be a member of the Community Larder to be able to take advantage of these advice sessions just pop along. 
 
Also on Tuesday, The Parks Trust is running FREE Printing Workshops. Now these are free, but you do need to book on the website. Last time I checked there were still some sessions available for 11.15 and 12.15. 
 
On Wednesday, the Wellbeing Cafe at the Salvation Army in Conniburrow runs from 10.30am till 2pm and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome. Great conversation and a free Panini and a hot drink. 
 
It is the last week of the month and that means it's the Lunch Club, running from 12 till 2pm, at the Great Linford Parish Council Meeting Room. Everybody welcome. Donations are gladly received but you can get a delicious hot meal. 
 
Also, talking about food, Conniburrow Community Fridge is open on Wednesday from 5 till 7pm 
 
Thursday, Great Linford Community Hub is open 10 till 4 and there is also a wellbeing class being run at the parish council office from 9.30am 
Thursday sees the very first basketball session that's been run throughout the Holidays, every Thursday, running from 2.30 to 4.30pm. At the Conniburrow Mugga. 
 
On Friday, we've got Great Linford Community Fridge, we've got Great Linford Community Hub and Conniburrow Community Fridge as well. That is not all on Friday we have some play sessions, run by Milton Keynes play Association, these are free to attend. There's no need to book just turn up 9.30 till 12.30. We've got more play sessions running throughout the holidays on the 12th of August as well and the 26th of August. All the details are on our website. 
Dates for your diary. Well, we've got a full council meeting this week on Wednesday. 
 
I know I mentioned it every week but it's worth mentioning until you have this in your diary, the 6th August, our community Summer Event. Free bouncy castles, Free, messy play, Free face painting – it is going to be a great day, make sure that one's in your diary. 
Talking of summer, we have free activities, I mentioned basketball earlier and the play sessions but there's football there's boxing, plus much, much more run in throughout the summer holidays. All the details are on our website, they are free to attend. 
 
Part time caretaker vacancy, we're still looking for someone who can work on an ad hoc basis, a couple of hours a week to support our caretaking team. If you think this could be you, give us a call and we can tell you more about the role
