Each year MK City Council offers parish councils the opportunity to apply to the CIF to match fund a local community project. Parish Councils can apply for up to £20k of funding from the CIF with the other half coming from parish funds. 

 

We know that overflowing dog waste bins and dog waste are a problem in our parish, and many residents have asked GLPC to do more to combat this issue. This issue was further exasperated when the Canal & River Trust removed three bins from our parish without consultation. 

 

We have been successful in obtaining a grant. 

 

 

This funding will be used to help upgrade our current stock and consider a few new locations that were noted in our last survey/consultation with residents 

 

 

The project will commence late summer 

 

 

We will be continuing to work with contractors to empty and service existing bins in the parish. We will be continuing to review where the high-traffic areas are, and where dog waste littering is a problem. We will review which existing bins need repairing or replacing. 

 

Sadly, this funding does not mean that we will be able to place a dog waste bin on every corner but with the support of residents, it will go a long way to help keep our parks and pathways clean and tidy, so everyone can enjoy open spaces, support wildlife and protect the environment.
